ITAR Registration
GAMDAN Optics, Inc. has acquired ITAR Registration with the US Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). ITAR compliance is a key strategic program to support our Military and Homeland Security customers to conform to International Traffic in Arms Regulations under the Arms Export Control Act.
The Department of State is responsible for the export and temporary import of defense articles and services governed by 22 U.S.C. 2778 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and Executive Order 13637. That section of the AECA is implemented by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR,” 22 CFR parts 120-130). The ITAR documentation itself is available from the Government Printing Office (GPO) as an annual hardcopy or e-document publication as part of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and as an updated e-document.
What is ITAR Registration?(International Traffic in Arms Regulations)
ITAR registration is a mandatory process for companies involved in manufacturing, exporting, or brokering defense-related articles, services, or technical data. This registration is crucial for legal compliance, access to the defense market, and safeguarding national security by controlling the transfer of sensitive military technologies and data. Failure to register can lead to severe penalties, including large fines and criminal charges. ITAR registration helps protect U.S. national security by ensuring that sensitive defense technologies and data do not fall into the wrong hands or go to foreign adversaries.
